Wheat Cottage is approached from the parking area on a level, through the main door. The doors are wider in this cottage to allow for wheel chair access.
The main door leads into the sitting room, which in turn has a door into the ground floor large double bedroom and an arch way into the open plan kitchen dining area.
Also on the groundfloor is a shower room, with a large shower with a stool which can be used in the shower, WC and wash basin.
On the first floor there are two bedrooms, one double and one twin.
The outside terrace is reached from the main door, and has fabulous views of the surrounding countryside.
This cottage is suitable for anyone who has difficulty negotiating stairs, and can accommodate wheelchair users.

Introduction
Wheat Cottage is part of a Grade II listed stone barn, that has been converted into three cottages of which Wheat is one. It is situated at Manor Farm, Wyke, Much Wenlock, which is our working family farm.
Pre-Arrival
• We have a website with pictures of all rooms and descriptions of each and it's facilities.
• Bookings/enquiries can be made directly from the website, via e-mail, telephone or postal.
• All guests are provided with written directions to the cottage.
• The nearest bus stop is situated at Posenhall which is 1 mile away.

• There are taxi services in Much Wenlock, 2 miles away and Broseley 2 miles away.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• The three cottages that form Bow Barns have their own private entrance from the road.
• Wheat cottage forms part of the original farmyard and there is ample parking in the yard outside the cottage. There is a concrete path to the door of the cottage and a ramp to the door, no steps.
Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area
• The main entrance is from the yard, via a concrete path to the main door of the cottage. There are no steps but a very slight ramp to the door. The key to the door will be available on your arrival.
• The door is 90cm x 190cm with hinge on left.
• The door opens into the sitting area of the cottage.
• The light switch for the sitting area is situated on the right hand side of the door casing. The floor is laminate throughout the groundfloor and doormats are situated both inside and outside of the entrance door.
• In the covered book case in the sitting area is the 'Useful Information' folder which has details about the cottage and local facilities.
Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc
• The only stairs in Wheat Cottage are to the two upstairs bedrooms. The approach to the stairs is from the open plan kitchen/dining area.The stairs are carpeted with a short pile 80% wool carpet of a russet colour. There are five steps to a drop landing and then the stairs splits into two, one to each of the upstairs bedrooms. There are 5 steps to each bedroom.
• All stairs have a handrail.
Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc
• The lounge area is the first room you enter from the main door. It has a laminate floor, with a doormat and one rug. There are two sofas and a wicker chair, all moveable.
• There is a TV with Digital Freeview box and DVD player
• There is an archway from the lounge area to the dining/kitchen
• The dining area has a table and six chairs.
• There is another door that leads from the lounge area to a downstairs bedroom.
• There is a covered book case with cupboard under, in the lounge area. The cupboard under, contains a fan heater and the soft cushions for the outdoor seating. The covered bookcase contains books, games,and DVDs.
Outdoor Facilities
• Situated outside the main door is a terrace with a table, parasol and seating.
• There is a communal green area accessed close to the main entrance of Bow Barns and there are outdoor games available for use there. Croquet set and skittles set are located in the storage building at the bottom of the farm yard, and labelled 'bins' on the door.
Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas
• There is a downstairs bedroom with laminate floor, accessed from the lounge area.
• There is a standard double bed with two bedside lights, and a light pull for main ceiling light above the bed head.
• There is a double wardrobe and dressing table with mirror, and bedside tables
• Rugs each side of the bed and at foot of bed.
• There are two upstairs bedrooms reached via the staircase from the dining area. The one has a double bed, two bedside lights, wardrobe and tallboy with mirror and bedside cupboard.
• The other one has two single beds with bedside lights, wardrobe and tallboy with mirror and bedside cupboard.
• All bedrooms have extra pillows and blankets available
Bathroom, Shower-room & WC [Ensuite or Shared]
• There is a ground floor shower room with WC and wash basin. The door is situated at the base of the staircase in the dining area.
• There is a heated towel radiator and additional towel rails, plus hooks for bathrobes. The shower has a 16cm step over the shower tray to enter the shower. There is a stool for use in the shower.
• The floor is laminate with bath rugs.
• The door can be locked with a hanging pin attached to the latch.
Self-Catering Kitchen
• The kitchen is accessed from the main door through an archway from the lounge area.
• It has a u-shaped layout with washing machine, dishwasher, hob, oven and fridge with freezer compartment.
• There is a microwave oven, coffee making machine, kettle, toaster and hand mixer.
• The floor is laminate with one rug.
• There are under wall unit lights over two walls, above the sink and cooker.
• There is ample crockery, glassware and cookware available in the kitchen cupboards
• Fire blanket and fire extinguisher are located either side of the archway from the lounge area. A torch is in the wall cupboard nearest to the fire blanket and emergency contact information is available on the notice board above the fire extinguisher.
